NCSoft hosted a new Aion 2 livestream where developers from Korea and Taiwan answered community questions and showcased long-awaited updates. If you missed it, here’s a recap of the most important highlights.
AION 2 Community – DISCORD
Q&A Highlights
Interface (UI)
- Some players worried the UI looked too “mobile.”
- Devs clarified the game is PC-first, so no need to worry.
- The UI isn’t final yet; they rushed to meet the open beta timeline.
- Since the last broadcast, they’ve made notable changes to feel more natural on PC.
Gameplay & Systems
Dungeons & PvP
- Instant dungeon teleportation prevents players from being camped at entrances.
- This keeps leveling uninterrupted, while dedicated PvP content will cover those competitive encounters.
Mobile Combat
- No full “auto-combat.”
- There will be combat assistance to keep mobile gameplay accessible and enjoyable—players still have to actively play.
Abyss Zone
- PvP is available for 7 hours per week.
- The timer can be extended with special items.
Death & Revival
- In PvE, you can use revival items.
- In PvP, you can’t use a resurrection crystal if killed by the enemy faction.
- Kisks return, letting you set a respawn point (as in Aion 1).
Factions
- Elyos and Asmodians are now more alike overall, though some differences remain.
Mounts & Housing
- Mounts can also act as pets that accompany you.
- The housing system lets you display achievements and reward statues.
Economy & Currencies
- Kinah: in-game currency.
- Quna: shop currency.
- The auction house uses Kinah only.
- Players can exchange Kinah and Quna freely, with rates set by the player economy (similar to Lost Ark).
Monetization
- Free-to-play with optional subscription and battle pass.
- Cash shop includes cosmetics, outfits, weapon skins, pets, and wings.
- Pets can be earned in-game or purchased.
- Wardrobe system for skins.
- Trading post offers consumables and some limited bags (but no enchantment stones).
