The highly anticipated MMORPG Aion 2 is about to launch, and although much is already known about the project, many doubts and misconceptions still remain among players. This article answers the most common questions to help you decide whether it is worth diving into the Korean–Taiwanese version before the global release.
Accounts, Regions, and Platforms
Aion 2 is a cross-platform MMORPG featuring a native PC client, developed independently rather than as a simple mobile port. Both platforms share the same content, allowing you to participate in all activities on either PC or mobile without restrictions.
Currently, the game does not include auto-combat or auto-travel.
The developers initially considered adding automatic skill rotation for mobile devices, but the idea was ultimately abandoned. Even so, NCSOFT noted they will evaluate player feedback after launch. Keep in mind that mobile gameplay may be less comfortable and require more consumables.
NCSOFT confirmed that it will not restrict international players: those who complete Korea’s mandatory identity verification can freely play on Korean servers. Otherwise, players can join the Taiwanese version, which has fewer restrictions. Official English localization is also confirmed, as with recent titles from the company.
How to Create an Account
Account registration is straightforward:
- Visit the official website.
- Select Taiwan, enter your date of birth, and accept the terms.
- Enter your email address and create a password.
- Download Purple, log in, and search for Aion 2.
- Complete the pre-registration to receive special rewards at launch (available until November 16, redeemable until January 14, 2026).
It is strongly discouraged to use alternative creation methods or link accounts to social networks. Also avoid using emails previously associated with NCSOFT accounts in other regions.

What the Game Offers
Aion 2 focuses heavily on PvE content: quests, open-world exploration, underwater and surface chests, solo and co-op dungeons, minigames, creature taming, and peaceful professions such as gathering, cooking, alchemy, and crafting.
PvP gameplay will also be available, featuring the Abyss (shared across servers), 1v1 and 4v4 arenas, and temporary rifts. Developers plan to expand PvP modes, but have clarified there will be no massive sieges or large-scale battles.
Faction rivalry works differently: each faction plays on its own server and only meets in designated areas or modes. There will also be PvP seasons, where two servers compete directly.

Monetization
The game is free-to-play, with all content available to everyone. Revenue will come from cosmetics, starter packs, battle passes, and a premium subscription offering additional features (such as character exchange using premium currency).
While Aion 2 does not contain direct pay-to-win (P2W) mechanics, some players may view trading premium currency in the auction house or battle pass resource exchanges as P2W elements. Ultimately, each player decides how they interpret it.

Guilds, Groups, and Servers
NCSOFT has completely separated Korean and Taiwanese servers. Each region will have 19 servers per faction, each supporting up to 20,000 characters (not representing concurrent capacity).
Guild and group limitations are also unusual:
- 40 members per guild, with no guild progression for now.
- 4-player parties.
- 8-player raids.
Classes Available at Launch
Aion 2 launches with eight classes. It is expected that new classes will be added later, following the evolution of the original Aion.
Ranger
Rangers deal ranged damage and apply multiple debuffs such as slows, silence, stuns, bleed, reduced defense, and lower critical resistance. They can knock enemies back and become invisible.
Assassin
Assassins excel at burst damage, especially when attacking from behind. They require stealth and precision, as they have low survivability.
Templar
Templars are classic tanks with sword and shield. They offer high durability, area damage and strong defensive buffs for allies.
Gladiator
Gladiators are versatile and dynamic despite using two-handed weapons. They mix mobility, burst, mid-range attacks and strong AoE damage.
Chanter
Chanters are hybrid support classes that provide buffs and healing, while still having decent offensive capabilities, especially in PvP.
Cleric
Clerics specialize in pure healing and resurrection. They are limited in solo content and are designed primarily for group play.
Sorcerer
Sorcerers use ice and water magic to deal high AoE damage and control enemies with debuffs.
Spiritmaster
Spiritmasters summon elemental creatures of fire, water, earth, and air that can attack, heal, or protect. They are one of the best classes for solo play.
