AION 2: NCSOFT announces second livestream for August 8 with gameplay and customization reveal

NCSOFT has announced the second official livestream of AION 2, its upcoming cross-platform MMORPG. The event will take place on August 8 at 11:00 UTC via the official YouTube channel, featuring the development team showcasing the “Temple of Fire” dungeon, the real-time character customization system, and other exclusive content for the first time.

Prior to the stream, the game’s producer, Kim Nam-joon, published a video message responding to players’ comments left after the first broadcast. He expressed deep gratitude for the community’s engagement and said that the overwhelming response gave the team an even greater sense of responsibility for the project.

Kim clarified that the trailer shown earlier was not a pre-rendered cinematic, but instead was recorded directly from the game client using real in-game footage. “We aim to deliver one of the most visually stunning MMORPGs,” he stated, highlighting not only character detail but also the scenery, skies, and visual effects.

Regarding character design, he explained that the art team aimed to blend the best of Eastern and Western styles, achieving diverse and appealing looks for both male and female characters. “We didn’t know what style players would prefer, so we made them all,” he joked.

The producer also revealed that the upcoming livestream will feature the character editor in real-time, one of the community’s most anticipated features, aiming to clear up any doubts about the game’s visual quality.

Finally, Kim Nam-joon acknowledged the nostalgic memories shared by longtime fans of the original Aion — such as PvP in portals, massive battles, and the thrill of dimensional travel. He confirmed the team is working hard to recapture that same excitement with modern gameplay adaptations.

Aion 2 is shaping up to be one of NCSOFT’s most ambitious projects, and the developers encourage everyone interested to tune in for the upcoming livestream on August 8 to discover a new side of this highly anticipated MMORPG.
