Daevas, the wait is over. The most ambitious and comprehensive update to AION 2 has officially arrived. Chapter 1: Land of Sand and Frost marks a monumental shift for the game, opening the borders to two iconic homelands, introducing an aggressive new martial arts class, pushing the level cap to 50, and fundamentally revolutionizing core progression systems like Inheritance, Stigmas, and the Wardrobe.
Whether you are a veteran Archon looking to dominate the Abyss or a returning player eager to explore new horizons, here is everything you need to know about today’s game-changing update.
1. New Lands & The “Fist Fighter” Class
Two Iconic Homelands Open Their Gates
The world of Atreia is expanding. The Elyos can now step foot into the sun-drenched, desert landscapes of Eltnen, while Asmodians can brave the frozen, treacherous wastes of Morheim.
- How to Enter: Completing the Verteron Traveler (Elyos) or [Altgard] Blue Wave Kelpina (Asmodian) Hero quests unlocks a dedicated teleport portal in your homeland.
- Rollout: These massive zones are split into Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, with the second phase rolling out sequentially in future updates.
Enter the Fist Fighter (권성)
A brand-new class joins the frontline: the Fist Fighter. Wielding dedicated Gauntlets (권갑), this melee powerhouse brings lightning-fast martial arts choreography, devastating combos, and intense close-quarters pressure to both PvE and PvP. To help everyone test out the new class, one free character slot has been added to all accounts!
Level Cap 50 & Free Stigma Resets
- Level Cap: Raised from 45 to 50.
- Stigma Expansion: The maximum Stigma skill level has expanded from 20 to 25. Every level-up from 45 onward rewards an Advanced Stigma Shard (Bound) to help you reach the new heights.
- Ultimate Freedom: The Kina cost to reset Stigmas has been completely removed. You can now experiment with your builds completely free of charge!
2. Dungeon, Raid & Party Size Revolution
Group content has received a top-to-bottom structural overhaul designed to streamline matchmaking and make rewards feel much more impactful.
- New Party Sizes: Standard party size is now officially capped at 5 players, and Forces are capped at 20 players. Boss mechanics across the board have been slightly retuned to accommodate the tighter group sizes.
- No More Dungeon Entry Limits: Reward-count and kill-count entry barriers for Expedition and Transcendence dungeons have been completely removed! A weekly count is now only consumed if you leave a cleared dungeon without claiming the final reward.
- Sanctuary Improvements: Final boss kill requirements for rewards have been reduced from 2 to 1, while the rewards themselves have been doubled. Additionally, the time limit for Sanctuaries has been generously extended to 2 hours.

Note: Nightmare Layer IV also opens today, allowing players who meet unlock conditions to challenge straight to Stage 10 and instantly sweep all first-clear rewards from lower stages!
3. 100% Guaranteed Inheritance & New Gear Slots
Say goodbye to the heart-wrenching RNG of gear progression. AION 2 has made one of its most player-friendly quality-of-life changes to date:
Inheritance is Now 100% Guaranteed!
All inheritance fail chances and advanced count limits have been removed. Inheritance will now succeed 100% of the time, with the maximum Kina cost capped at 50,000,000. Even better: Starting July 8, the developers will analyze play logs and retroactively refund all materials that players previously lost on failed inheritances!
New Equipment: Pendants & Arcana
- Pendants: A brand-new accessory slot! Rare and Heritage-grade Pendants can be acquired through Eltnen and Morheim quests, while Unique-grade Pendants are enhanced using Kina, Breakthrough Stones, and newly consolidated Dragon Essence.
- Arcana Slots: Four new slots—Key, Hourglass, Dice, and Lantern—have been introduced. Key and Hourglass Arcana can be earned in the new Transcendence dungeons today, allowing you to lock in powerful stat bonuses.
4. The Abyss & Equalized PvP Battlefields
PvP combatants have plenty to sink their teeth into with massive changes to Reshanta and structured PvP zones.
- Abyss Ereshulanta Surface Layer: A brand-new PvP zone tailored for accessible combat! To ensure a fair fighting ground, entry is strictly restricted to characters at or below Item Level 4,300 (or 400K Combat Power). Exceeding this limit mid-fight triggers an immediate ejection penalty.
- Per-Class Ranking Rewards: Abyss boss kills and Artifact occupation rewards have transitioned from overall server contribution to per-class rankings, ensuring a much wider distribution of Medals and rewards across all playstyles.
- Equalized 10v10 Battlefields: Say hello to the Sandstorm Temple, replacing the Cradle of Odyle Shards. Inside, all player stats are equalized, Mastery skills are set to Lv. 20, and Stigmas to Lv. 25—putting pure skill and teamwork to the ultimate test. Co-op Arenas have also transitioned to a 5v5 format.
5. Major Class Balance Pass
Postponed from June, the massive class balance pass has arrived alongside the new Combat Power system. Across all Arena, Battlefield, and Abyss zones, the base healing reduction debuff has been relaxed from 40% to 30%, giving sustain classes more breathing room.
Here is a quick snapshot of how your favorite class evolved today:
| Class | Key Balance Highlights |
| Gladiator | Gains Frontal Damage Amplification as a base stat via Experienced Counterstrike. Ruinous Blow PvE damage increased by +40% and no longer costs mana. |
| Templar | Gains Frontal Damage Amplification via Fury. Executing Blade sees a +30% PvP damage boost and applies a -30% defense debuff on hit. |
| Assassin | Massive PvE buffs across the board: Insignia Explosion (+20%), Shadowstrike (+20%), and passive damage boosts to Exploit Weakness and Determination. |
| Ranger | Gale Arrow receives PvE (+7%) and PvP (+3.5%) amplification buffs. Mother Nature’s Breath now grants substantial PvE/PvP damage resistances. |
| Chanter | A lethal PvP threat: Fracturing Blow (+30% PvP damage, -30% defense debuff), Wave Blow (+20%), and Impactful Crush (+20%). Power of the Storm now shares cooldown reduction and attack buffs with the party! |
| Cleric | Radiant Recovery is no longer a charge skill—its full effect now applies instantly! Condemnation and Earth Punishment can now be cast while moving. |
| Spiritmaster | Massive PvE amplification spikes on Spirit Strike (up to +35%) and Flame Blessing (+50% PvE damage). Earth Spirit taunt is adjusted, but spirits no longer take DoT damage. |
| Sorcerer | Significant PvP burst enhancements: Hellfire (+15% PvP damage), Frost Burst (+20%), and Winter’s Shackles (+15%). |
6. Server-Wide Wardrobe & Celebratory Events
Fashion Daevas can finally rejoice: Special-grade appearances and Special-race pets are now shared across your entire server! If you own duplicate appearances or pets across multiple characters on the same server, they will be automatically consolidated, and exchange tickets will be issued directly to your Cube to trade for new cosmetics.
